L-STAIR • MONOSTRINGER WITH TURN
L-Stair
Floating mono-stringer stair with a clean, space-saving turn
L-Stair (Turning Configuration)
L-Stair Overview
The L-stair is a turning floating stair configuration engineered to change direction—typically 90°—while preserving the minimal profile and structural efficiency of a mono-stringer system. By introducing a controlled turn via a landing or winder sequence, the load path is redirected through a defined node in the structure, allowing the stair to fit tighter plans, align with architectural circulation, and reduce the required linear run. Properly detailed, the turning segment provides excellent rigidity and predictable performance, while enabling clean integration with a wide range of tread materials, finishes, and guard systems. The result is a compact, visually restrained stair that maintains a crisp, modern geometry while accommodating real-world layout constraints.
